David is responsible for comprehensive and highly customized financial planning, wealth management, and relationship development. He brings creativity and passion to his work as a highly motivated connector, strategist, and problem solver. David is committed to making sophisticated financial planning and education accessible to all, leading with empathy and awareness to help clients navigate the complex structures surrounding personal finances and life planning. His clients include physicians, lawyers, hedge fund managers, consultants, and entrepreneurs; and he has a unique focus on non-traditional planning, LGBTQIA+, artists, and musicians.
David was Vice President of TransitioNext Advisors prior to co-founding Lumen Wealth Advisors. Previously he spent 3 years as Chief of Staff for a successful Cleveland Heights, Ohio wealth management firm where he oversaw the financial planning and investment process, and managed operations and staff to provide the best service to clients. It was during this time that David developed a passion for helping others through financial planning, and where he obtained the necessary licensing, certification, and experience to excel as a Financial Planner.
A first-generation college graduate, David earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Piano Performance from Case Western Reserve University and completed a Certificate of Financial Planning from New York University. He has participated in many workshops and conferences both including the financial industry as well as personal development and awareness-based practices.
David is highly involved within arts & culture organizations in Cleveland and nationally including as a board member for several non-profits that support excellence in classical music. He enjoys traveling both regionally and internationally, is enthusiastic about the preservation of historic homes, and loves to share food and drinks with friends and family.
